Canadensis

Canadensis considers choice from the point-of-view of a contemporary journey of exploration. Specific to three historic Canadian locales, it models historic botanical documentation but questions the arbitrary selection of specimens as representation of 'discovery' of place. What is included and what is excluded? Who makes the choice?

All images are lithographs printed between 1997 and 1999. Four images were printed at St. Michael's Printshop in St. John's, NL; and four at Engramme, Quebec, Quebec while I was artist in residence at these studios. The final four images were printed at Open Studio in Toronto, Ontario.

Canadensis,12 images, 66X51cm, litho, editions of 10. $400 each.
